Examples
I have included examples of work that I have done in the past and some that are available now. Each piece is unique. I create wallhanging, pillows, tablerunners, potholders, as well as the occasional large bed quilt.
Wallhangings
Most of my quilts are wallhangings. I make a special sleeve for the back of each one to distribute the weight of the quilt. You can hang them by placing a wooden dowel through the hanging sleeve and resting the dowel ends on a couple of nails. Many people also choose to use a decorative curtain rod in place of the dowel.
Care Instructions: Do not hang in direct sunlight. Dust occasionally. Spot clean with a damp cloth if necessary. If very dirty, machine wash cold gentle cycle, lay flat to dry, iron flat.
Pillows
I also make pillows and pillow covers. I use a zipper on the back so that the cover can be removed and washed if needed. Most of the wallhangings can also be turned into pillow covers.
Care Instructions: Spot clean with a damp cloth. If needed, unzip pillow cover and remove from pillow form to wash: machine wash cold, gentle cycle, lay flat to dry, iron flat.
Tablerunners
Tablerunners are usually a custom order made to your table and color scheme specifications.
Care Instructions: Spot clean with a damp cloth. If necessary: machine wash cold, gentle cycle, lay flat to dry, iron flat.
Potholders
I place a double layer of cotton batting in the potholders to make them useful as well as decorative. Some of the designs that I use for the potholders are traditional quilting patterns, including nine patch, pinwheel and Ohio star. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold, Lay flat to dry, Iron if necessary
Baby Quilts
I make baby quilts primarily as custom orders because each baby is different. Here are some examples of past baby quilts. These are all pastel colors, but I definitely do primary and bright colors as well.
Care Instructions: Machine wash cold, Lay flat to dry, Iron if necessary
Custom Orders
I am happy to do custom orders if you have a specific space you are trying to fill, color scheme or motif. Factors that affect price are size, complexity of surface design and complexity of quilting. Just let me know what you have in mind and I can give you a quote.
