The Austin City Limits episode will debut 10/8/11 on PBS
This suit, specially created for Joe Lewis of Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, was inspired by the work of Nudie Cohn, Rodeo Tailor. The suits Nudie made for Gram Parsons and Keith Richards were a看 major influence. The color palette of black, red, green and gold is taken from African flags. The snakes on the jacket and pants are because Joe Lewis just likes snakes (and also referencing their song "Black Snake"). Remembrance poppies climb the sleeves. The lone star centered on the back of the jacket gives it some Texas style.
The base suit is made by Circle S Ranch and Western Wear based in Dallas, Texas. All adornments were added by Shauna Woullard, The Crafty Monkey in Austin, Texas.
