This is a listing for the first four in a series of quilted wall hangings designs I made based on the illustrations in The Ecological Relations of Roots, a book published in 1919 on the root structures and behavior of Midwestern US prairie plants.
I start each wall hanging with plain muslin and quilted a 1 inch grid where 1 inch equals 1 foot. I then free motion quilted plants and root structures while looking at the illustrations. I try to balance scientific accuracy, design and the sewing medium with each of my interpretations.
These wall hangings are dark brown, dark blue, dark green and dark purple threads on cream. Please ask if you would like it made in other color combinations or custom colors at no extra charge.
The wall hangings are finished with a coordinating binding and hanging sleeves.
